On 23rd February 2014, five Metro Leos joined our sponsoring Lions Club in the regular Sunday Lunch Project for the elderly under the care of Lions Befrienders (Ghim Moh).
The elderly were served food and drinks, kindly sponsored by Lions Club of Singapore Metropolitan. After the lunch, Leo William, who is currently a traditional chinese medicine practitioner, taught the elderly some simple eye exercises that they can do it themselves at home, to relax and improve their eyesight. We had a mass practice session together, to familiarise the elderly with the correct position and gesture.
After the simple eye exercises, we conducted a modified lucky draw game for the elderly, in which mini prizes such as biscuits, instant noodles, milo tins, key chains and umbrellas were given away. The elderly had an enjoyable time playing the game and were excited to win those mysterious prizes!:)
We would like to thank Lions and Leos who have volunteered their time to serve hot lunch to the elderly and we definitely look forward to serving lunch with our Lions again in April.
