On the 22nd of September 2012, Leo Club of Singapore Metropolitan participated in the flag-day fund-raising in support of the Lions Befrienders' Service Association.
The Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) [LBSA] is a Voluntary Welfare Organisation which was founded in 1995 by the Lions Clubs of Singapore and a Lions District Project. We are also a registered member with the National Council of Social Service, the local social services sector's umbrella body. For more information, please visit their site at http://www.lionsbefrienders.org.sg
Our Leos, together with the Lions from our sponsoring Lions Club, Lions Club of Singapore Metropolitan, were stationed at Toa Payoh HDB Hub. We had a most fulfilling day as we could hear our cans gradually filling up. Even though there were some rejections, many Singaporeans came forward to donate, moving us with their generosity.
