The Lions Home for the Elders (LHE) operates two nursing homes with 354 residents under their care. A majority (90%) of the residents are from low-income households or destitute.
The two homes (Toa Payoh and Bedok) operate on a budget of $9.2 million. In order to raise fund for the operation and sustainability of the LHE, an islandwide flag day was held on 21st September 2013.
3 Leos volunteered to be flag collectors on the Flag Day at Toa Payoh area while 7 Metro Leos appealed for cash donation via pledge cards.
